Built by people who only quote inspectors
Nine years quoting home inspectors — solo 1099, franchise offices, mold, radon, sewer-scope, commercial. We don't quote anyone outside the trade.
We built Foundation Health because no broker would quote a radon inspector.
In 2017, our founder's brother — a residential and radon inspector in central Texas — spent three weeks calling brokers trying to add his spouse and two kids to a plan that recognized inspection work as a legitimate self-employed trade. Every broker quoted him off W-2 worksheets. Two of them flagged "radon" as an environmental-remediation hazard and surcharged him 27%.
He eventually gave up and bought a generic ACA plan that excluded the pulmonologist he'd been seeing since a bad crawlspace job in 2014. The total damage that year — overpaid premium, lost subsidy, out-of-network specialist visits — was about $8,400.
We started Foundation Health to fix exactly this. One trade. One advisor team. Carriers that actually underwrite home inspectors correctly. After nine years, we cover more than 28,000 inspection professionals across all 50 states — and we still don't quote anyone outside the trade.

Six things every inspector should expect from their broker.
Every licensed home inspector in America should have health coverage that recognizes the trade — priced honestly off Schedule C, placed with carriers that don't flag ladders, and renewed by the same advisor every year.
Four values we test every quote against.
Pre-placed with the carriers that quote inspectors fairly.
Foundation Health Insurance Agency LLC is licensed to sell health, accident, and supplemental coverage in all 50 states. Appointments include — but are not limited to:
We only quote inspectors.
Generic brokers price your plan like you're a desk job worker. We've spent nine years learning what makes inspector coverage different — and which carriers actually understand the trade.
Built only for inspectors
We don't quote dentists, real-estate agents, or rideshare drivers. Every advisor on staff has placed coverage for solo inspectors, multi-inspector franchises, and specialty trades — they speak ASHI, InterNACHI, NACHI, and Pillar To Post fluently.
Schedule C-aware pricing
Most brokers quote your premium off gross income. We build your subsidy math off projected Schedule C net — including the self-employed health insurance deduction — so the quote on screen is the cost you'll actually pay after taxes.
Carriers that don't surcharge specialty trades
Mold, radon, sewer-scope, WDI/WDO — three out of four general brokers will either decline the application or kick it to a substandard pool. We pre-place with carriers that underwrite specialty inspectors at standard rates.
Stays with you season to season
Your advisor doesn't disappear after enrollment. Slow winter? Busy spring? New franchise inspector joining? Same advisor handles renewals, mid-year changes, claims questions, and Schedule C documentation requests for as long as you carry a plan with us.

“I'd been paying COBRA at $760/month because no broker would touch a 1099 inspector. Foundation ran my Schedule C and got me onto a silver ACA plan at $264 after subsidy. The self-employed deduction saved me another $1,900 at tax time.”

“I've had asthma since a bad crawlspace job in 2021. My advisor picked a plan with the pulmonologist I already see in-network and a $25 inhaler copay. Three other brokers had quoted me with the doctor out-of-network and never said a word.”

“Three kids, wife on the plan, and I cover everyone for $612 after the credit. With my old broker I was quoted $1,400 for the same network. The Foundation call took 22 minutes — done before my afternoon inspection.”

“We run a four-inspector Pillar To Post office. Foundation built us an ICHRA that cut our spend 27% and let every inspector pick their own plan. Renewal this year took one phone call.”

“Fell off a 12-foot ladder on a pre-listing inspection in March. Accident policy paid out $4,800 in 11 days — covered the mortgage, the kids' school, and the truck payment while I healed. Cheapest peace of mind I've ever bought.”
